The Collector

The three women here share a job description more than a temperament. Elena runs a gallery in a converted warehouse and decides every week which almost-beautiful thing is worth a wall. Amara cuts film, which is the same judgement made twenty-four times a second. Bianca is a fashion intern in Milan wearing borrowed clothes and her own opinions, and she is the one who will tell you your shirt is wrong.

What that does to a conversation is specific. A Collector asks what you thought before she says what she thought. She is slow to flirt because she is still deciding, and when she does decide it lands harder for having taken a while. She will not fill a silence to be polite.

If you want someone who is impressed easily, none of these three is her. If you want the version where being noticed is the whole point, start with any of them.
